Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all services provided by AirEffect ("AirEffect", "we", "us", "our") to you, the customer ("you", "your"). By booking a service with AirEffect, whether through our website, our AI assistants (Aria and Kaia), or by phone, text or email, you agree to these Terms.

1. About us

AirEffect is a specialist heat pump cleaning and decontamination service based in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. You can reach us at info@aireffect.co.nz or 027 395 2742.

2. Our services

AirEffect provides internal heat pump deep cleaning and decontamination, DVS and HRV filter replacement, and ducted system sanitisation. We are a cleaning and maintenance service. We do not provide installation, electrical work, gas work, refrigerant work, or the repair of faults. If we find a fault, leak, or an electrical or gas issue during a visit, we will let you know and recommend you engage a suitably qualified technician.

3. Quotes and pricing

Prices are shown excluding GST unless stated otherwise, and GST of 15 percent applies. Quotes provided by our website, our AI assistants, or our staff are estimates based on the information you give us. The final price may differ if the job on site differs from what was described, for example more units, heavier soiling, difficult access, or extra services requested on the day. We will discuss any change with you before carrying out additional work. Commercial jobs, and residential jobs of five or more units, are quoted individually.

4. Bookings and confirmations

A booking is confirmed once we send you a confirmation by email or text. Arrival times are given as a window rather than an exact time, because travel and job durations vary. We schedule by location to keep things efficient, so your visit may be grouped with other jobs in your area.

5. Cancellations, rescheduling and access

You can reschedule or cancel through Kaia on our website, or by contacting us directly. We ask for as much notice as you can give. If our technician arrives at the agreed time and cannot carry out the work because the property or unit cannot be accessed (for example no one is home, the unit is blocked, or there is no power or water available), a call-out fee may apply to cover the wasted visit. Please make sure each unit is accessible and any pets are secured before we arrive.

6. Your responsibilities

To allow us to clean safely and effectively, you agree to provide safe and reasonable access to each heat pump and to power and water, to clear the area around each unit, to secure pets, and to tell us before the visit of anything we should know. This includes the age or condition of the unit, any known faults, the presence of asbestos, or any other hazard on site.

7. Condition of your equipment

We take great care with your property and protect electrics and furnishings during every clean. Heat pumps that are old, poorly maintained, already faulty, or damaged may show or develop issues during or after a clean that are caused by their existing condition rather than by our work. Where a unit is in poor condition we will tell you before proceeding where we can. AirEffect is not responsible for pre-existing faults, normal wear, or damage, or for issues that arise from the existing condition of the unit.

8. The 12-month mould-free guarantee

AirEffect is confident in the quality of every Deluxe Clean. We guarantee that the indoor evaporator coils will remain mould free for 12 months from the date of a Deluxe Clean decontamination wash. The guarantee runs for 12 months from the initial service date, and any re-treatment within that period does not restart the 12 month term.

If you notice mould on the indoor evaporator coils within the guarantee period, simply contact us on 027 395 2742 or at info@aireffect.co.nz and we will look after it. The guarantee covers the indoor evaporator coils only. It does not cover normal dust or contamination on other parts of the heat pump, and it does not apply if the unit is serviced or cleaned by another provider during the guarantee period.

The guarantee does not apply to heat pumps located in kitchens, beauty salons, hairdressers, massage therapy rooms, manufacturing plants, food production areas, bakeries, or smoking rooms, where conditions cause faster build up.

9. Liability

AirEffect carries out all work with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to re-performing the affected service or refunding the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.

10. Photographs

We may take before and after photographs of the units we clean for our quality records, and, with care taken not to identify you or your property, for marketing. If you would prefer we did not use images from your job for marketing, just let us know and we will respect that.

11. Health and safety

Our technicians follow safe work practices. We may decline or stop a job if a site is unsafe, for example unsafe working heights, electrical hazards, or aggressive animals, until the hazard is resolved.

12. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the service unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We will provide a GST invoice. Please let us know promptly if there is any issue with your invoice.

13. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

14. Your consumer rights

Where you acquire our services as a consumer, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded. These Terms apply only to the extent they do not conflict with that Act.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is the one published on aireffect.co.nz.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
